Product Description

The Microtec RM-1 POL is a research quality polarising microscope with transmitted illumination. The standard microscope system comprises the followiing:

Binocular viewing tube with phototube

  • Seidentopf type with beam splitter – 100% visual or 100% to the vertical photo tube


  • Widefield 10x/18 eyepieces – one focusing with cross-line and scale graticule

Intermediate Tube

  • Containing a 360° rotating analyser with 2° 30′ divisions, a centerable Bertrand Lens and a compensator slot


  • Quintuple centering nosepiece

Rotating Stage

  • 158mm diameter centering rotating stage with 1° scale and 6’ vernier

Strain Free Infinity Corrected Objectives

  • Planachromat 4x/NA = 0.10
  • Planachromat 10x/NA = 0.25
  • Planachromat 20x/NA = 0.40
  • Planachromat 40x/NA = 0.66

Coarse and Fine Coaxial Focusing

  • Fine focusing calibrated to 2μm

Focusing Condenser

  • Centering Abbe NA 1.25 condenser with iris diaphragm and 360° rotating polariser with 5° scale


  • First order red 1λ
  • Quarter wave plate 1/4λ

Incident Illuminator
